I have conducted qualitative research with service providers who provide mental health and psychosocial support to female Yazidis in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, looking at the intersection of mental health, gender and violence. I am using mixed methods in my PhD research to explore the mental health of Ukrainian adolescent girls and young women living in the UK since the onset of the Russia-Ukraine war, including their coping strategies and help-seeking behaviours, with the aim of informing development of effective interventions for young female refugees in the UK.
