Research & Expertise

I am a public health researcher with expertise in migrant and refugee mental health, sexual and reproductive health, and the evaluation of community- and school-based interventions. My work combines quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods approaches, including randomized controlled trials and implementation-focused research. I have led and contributed to studies in the United States and Mexico examining the health needs of undocumented and newcomer populations, with a particular focus on trauma, access to care, and systems-level responses. My interests center on generating policy-relevant evidence to improve health equity for migrants, refugees, and other structurally marginalized communities.
